What Happens During A Naturopathic Consult?

Naturopathy is a holistic form of complementary medicine that combines science-based therapeutics with traditional healing techniques. Rather than solely symptom treating, naturopathy addresses the underlying factors leading to a diseased state and supports the body’s innate healing processes to restore health.

As a naturopathic practitioner, I can assist you with:

  • The prevention & treatment of chronic disease

  • Overcoming trauma and its effects

  • Improving gut health

  • Weight management, such as fat loss, healthy weight gain and sustaining those changes

  • Musculoskeletal conditions, such as joint pain, arthritis & gout

  • Male & female reproductive health

  • Enhancing skin health & appearance

  • Mental health, such as stress, anxiety & depression

  • Sleep disorders

  • Athletic performance & recovery

  • Energy levels & fatigue

& more!

The Initial Consultation

The initial consultation is the first session we’ll have together and lasts for approximately 45 minutes. This is where you have the opportunity to share your health concerns with me and together we’ll explore these concerns, as well as other body systems (e.g. immune, neurological, cardiovascular, etc.) that may potentially be driving or exacerbating the issue. As it relates, we’ll explore your personal health history, family health history, diet, and lifestyle. Everything you share with me is strictly confidential.

The Treatment Plan

A comprehensive assessment is made to tailor a personalised treatment plan for you based on the health concerns addressed. By end of day, you will receive your treatment plan via email. This details the treatment aims, the treatment procedure and dietary and lifestyle interventions. I may also send you additional educational resources to help you gain a deeper understanding of your condition and the treatments.

Depending on your condition, herbal and/or nutritional medicines are likely to be prescribed. These are tailored to you and have enormous value in the treatment process. Please note, these come at an additional cost.

The Follow-Up

The follow-up consultations last for approximately 20 minutes. Here, we assess your progress, make any necessary adjustments to the treatment plan and explore any other health concerns that may need addressing.

You’re encouraged to discuss any challenges or difficulties you may have encountered while implementing the treatment plan. Open communication allows us to address your concerns and provide additional guidance or support.

The frequency of follow-up consultations vary depending on your condition and treatment plan. Some people may require regular follow-ups, while others may have less frequent appointments as their health improves. It’s important to remain consistent with the treatment program to achieve your desired results.
